Pierino Prati is the Camp Director and head
instructor. He grew up with the
youngsters of Milan. He was first sent to a C league team, the Salernitana, to
begin his career. He began to play professional soccer there, taking the team to
the championship and a consequent promotion to the B league. The next year he
jumped to the B series team of Savona. From there he
returned to Milan, where he played for seven winning years.
He has won:
2 Italy Cups;
2 Cup of Cups;
1 National Championship
(1968/69);
the Champions Cup 1969;
the Intercontinental Cup
1970.
In 1967 he was also Top Scorer of the Italian
championship.
From there he joined the Rome team, where he played for another 5 years
before moving on to Florence (one year) and finally returning to Savona in
series C, where his playing career ended three years later, in 1981.
Pierino Prati also played in 18 national matches, scoring 7 goals.
He
still holds the record for goals (3) scored in a
Champions Cup (Milan-Ajax, 4-1).
Wearing the blue jersey (Italian national team) he was European Champion in 1968
and runner up in the World Cup in Mexico in 1970.
Prati had numerous trainers during his long career; of these Swede
Nils Liedholm and Nereo Rocco, the "Paron" are the
most memorable.
Although he has "hung up his shoes", he has not abandoned the game. After
participating in the "Super Trainer 1st Class" in
Coverciano, he has dedicated his time to training boys.
For seven years he has been an instructor at the AC twin
soccer school Milan.

The children arrive at the camp
selected by them on Sunday around 12:30pm. They are immediately
assigned an
Adidas-Milan kit, so they can arrive properly fitted
out on the field for their first afternoon training. This
training is mainly to introduce them to their coaches and give
them their first instructions on the rules of the camp and the
behavior expected of them
Saturday morning is the final tournament; the camp ends at noon
after certificates of participation
are distributed and cups and medals
awarded to players and teams showing exception skills on the
individual and group levels.
A typical program for the camp includes two training sessions
per day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Each
session is two hours long. The rest of the day is taken up by
entertainment and recreational activities (TV room, group play,
karaoke, minigolf, ice skating when possible, swimming when
possible, etc.)
Schedules
for beach areas such as Jesolo may provide for evening
training due to the hot weather during the summer. Those
afternoons the group may go to the beach.
The soccer
course will be comprehensive, covering all elements of the game,
covering techniques, skills, phases of play, small sided games
and full 11 v 11 sessions for some of the older players. All
participants will be expected to take an active role in this
element, so it is advised that students have a good level of
fitness before they attend.
The Responsible Manager coordinates with all Sporteventi coaches
present (one for every 15 campers including the Responsible
Manager) both on and off the soccer field.
Campers are divided into groups based
mainly on age, physical growth and finally technical
ability, which is decided the first day upon their arrival at
the camp (Sunday afternoon) (Full teams attending will have a
choice to stay as a group or have the players go to skill
groups).
|
|
The morning is
usually devoted to technical
stations; afternoons are used for
squad or individual tournaments
(drives, shoot outs, penalty kicks, etc.).
Campers will
have between 4 to 5 hours of soccer per day
